THE GLASS SPOT CLASSES

At the Glass Spot there is a maximum number of six people per class, ensuring plenty of blow time and teacher attention for every participant. Please register for class by clicking the desired class on its scheduled date on the calendar. If you have any questions email theglassspot@gmail.com or the office at (804)228-8868. After enrolling, please see “I enrolled in a class, now what?” section below and print & fill out the release form to return on the first day of class. Discount rates and additional class days/times available for groups of six registering together.

SUMMER 2011 INTENSIVE COURSE CATALOG

Register for a Summer Intensive course by clicking the desired class on its scheduled date on the calendar.

INTRO to HOT GLASSWORKING

See Calendar for times and to register for class.

Students will learn to gather molten glass on a solid metal rod and work the glass into different forms including paperweights and marbles. No experience required, all materials provided. $85

INTRO to GLASSBLOWING I

See Calendar for times and to register for class. (4 weeks)

Students will learn how to gather molten glass on a blowpipe and blow it out into basic forms. Basic assisting techniques will also be taught. Intro to Glassworking or similar glass experience required. All materials provided. $300

INTRO to GLASSBLOWING II

See Calendar for times and to register for class. (4 weeks)

Will expand knowledge to harder shapes and learn how to add hot bits of glass to the bubble. Simple color techniques and mold blowing will also be taught. Intro to Glassblowing I or equivalent required. All materials and some color provided. $300

PRIVATE LESSONS

Select times throughout the week.

A 90 minute one-on-one lesson with a trained professional. No experience required.$85

Please Note:

Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis. You must be at least 16 years old to enroll for a class (with consent of parent or guardian if under the age of 18). Payment must be paid in full before participation will be allowed. Cash, MasterCard, Visa and personal check accepted. There is a $25 dollar returned check fee.

I enrolled in a class, now what?

Please plan to arrive for class 15 minutes early especially on the first day as we have things to cover before we can start working. Missed class sessions or missed partial sessions will not be made up or refunded. There are no refunds for no shows.

Please bring sunglasses or some kind of eye protection. If you don’t have any, safety glasses will be provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes. No sandals or the like.Please read, complete, and sign the RELEASE OF LIABILITY & VOLUNTARY ASSUMPTION OF RISK form and return it before or on the first day of class.

You will not be able to participate without it. The Glass Spot reserves the right to cancel any classes with insufficient registration. In this unlikely event, we will refund the class or issue credit.
